Scheduling

All Portage High School students visit their guidance counselors each winter to schedule classes for the following school year. The following tips will help you build your schedule.

1. To find out more information about your course choices, click on "course descriptions"
under the guidance tab. Pay attention to the pre-requisites required for some courses. Dual credit courses are marked with a star.

2. Choose a total of 14 credits. Course numbers that end in AB are full-year courses worth 2 credits. Course numbers that end in C are semester courses worth 1 credit.

3. If there is a line next to the course, a teacher's signature is required. Make sure this is done before you meet with your guidance counselor to schedule your classes.

4. Make sure you fill in alternate courses with full year and semester choices. Do not circle alternate courses.

Vocational Courses
Students interested in a vocational program must turn in an application and attend
one of the vocational open houses. Talk to your guidance counselor for application deadlines and open house dates.
